On This Day in Jewish History: May 13, 1905

#OTDJH: May 13th, 1905 legendary Israeli graphic designer and advertiser, Franz Kraus, was born in Sankt Pölten, Austria. Some have labeled Franz as the "Israeli Don Draper".

Kraus was instrumental in designing early ads to promote Jewish immigration to British Mandatory Palestine prior to Israel's independence.

Following the establishment of the State of Israel, Kraus played a big role in paving the way to promoting Israeli goods in "modern ways".

Franz passed away in 1998 in Tel Aviv - leaving behind a strong legacy and an even stronger Israeli industry of advertisers.
