#onthisday, 1987, riots break out in Gaza, Jerusalem and throughout Judea and Samaria (West Bank) in response to the tragic death of 4 Palestinians in a car accident where the driver had been Israeli and falsely accused of doing it on purpose.

Soon, led by the PLO, the momentum of the riots would take on a more organized character, and the First Intifada would be unleashed.

Matters in the region would never be the same.
