On this day, the United States House of Representatives acknowledged that Jerusalem is and should remain the capital of Israel. The Jewish Virtual Library records the measure as a concurrent resolution adopted on 24 April 1990. It also says Jerusalem must remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected.

The Institute for Palestine Studies records that the House vote was 378 to 34, and that the Senate had passed the same resolution on 22 March.
