On this day, a suicide bomber attacked the Sbarro pizzeria in Jerusalem. The World Jewish Congress records that 15 people were killed and 130 wounded. Izz al-Din Shuheil al-Masri carried the bomb into the restaurant shortly before 2 p.m. Ahlam Tamimi had scouted the target.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad both claimed responsibility.
