On this day, Saeed Hotari detonated a bomb outside the Dolphinarium nightclub on the Tel Aviv beach. The Jerusalem Post records that he was affiliated with Hamas, and that 21 people were killed: 20 civilians and one soldier. Most were teenage girls. About 120 people were wounded.

Many of the dead were young immigrants from the former Soviet Union who were waiting in line to enter the club. Human Rights Watch records that Hamas claimed the bombing after an initial claim by Islamic Jihad.
