On this day, Israel and Hezbollah completed a prisoner exchange arranged by Germany. Al Jazeera records that Israel released 400 Palestinian prisoners, 23 Lebanese prisoners, and 12 other Arab detainees. Hezbollah returned Elhanan Tannenbaum and the bodies of three soldiers taken in October 2000.

CBS News names the soldiers Beni Avraham, Adi Avitan, and Omar Souad. The remains were identified in Germany before the Palestinian prisoners were freed in the West Bank and Gaza.
