During the night of September 29, 1938, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy signed the Munich Agreement. The French Yellow Book records that the talks began at midday on September 29 and that the agreement was signed that night. Adolf Hitler, Neville Chamberlain, Édouard Daladier, and Benito Mussolini signed. The text of the agreement is dated Munich, September 29. Czechoslovakia was not a party.
The agreement provided for the cession of the Sudetenland to Germany. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum records that German troops occupied the region between October 1 and October 10.
