On this day, Ruth Dayan died at her home in Tel Aviv. The New York Times records that she was 103 and the founder of Maskit, a fashion house that employed the crafts of Jewish immigrants and Arabs. She was the former wife of Moshe Dayan.

The Associated Press records that she was born in Haifa in 1917 and founded Maskit in 1954. The Jerusalem Post records that she was born in March 1917.
